Colleen’s Story
Hi I’m Colleen! (She/her)
I nannied in the Greater Seattle Area for 12 years. I loved helping new little people find their confidence and voice in the world all while watching them hit their milestones and revel in the fun of childhood. I enjoyed getting to start with families when they were first welcoming an infant and getting to help guide all family members through that infant stage. I would then stay on with those families for 2 to 3 years to help lay a good foundation of care and important skills that the family could use after I moved on. I found as I worked with many expanding families I loved the added support I could give the parents throughout the pregnancy, and guiding families through the transition of bringing a new baby home. Being a doula has been in my heart’s periphery for years. My passion was kindled by my love of working with families through different transitional phases as a nanny. This, in combination with some sweet encouragement from my loved ones, was the spark for me moving into this work. In order to gain more insight into the clinical experiences of pregnant people and further my understanding of what gestational people deal with during pregnancy I transitioned into patient access at a local OBGYN clinic and have loved getting to build community and feelings of comfort at the clinic with our patients. This all put me in the perfect place to be here with you and I am honored to be apart of your life journey.
